Ten Scary Plane Crash Videos
Now that I think about it, I just realized there’s something wrong with that title. I mean, is there such a thing as a plane crash that isn’t scary? I for one am certain that should I find myself in a situation where I’m standing in a field watching a flaming plane crash to earth just meters away or worse, a passenger in a plane that is mere seconds from totally surrendering to gravity, I’d soil my pants, no doubt about it.
Watching the ten plane crash videos below won’t necessitate an underwear change, but they’re all scary just the same.
1. These guys must have horseshoes under their ejector seats, being able to punch out of this fighter jet when they were supposed to have been debris mere seconds ago had the pilot not pulled up at the last millisecond.
2. You don’t see a spectacular fireball, nor were any people killed in this plane crash, but this one is kinda scary, echoes of The Blair Witch Project notwithstanding.
3. So this is what happens when a jetliner tries to land in a field.
4. Surfers on this beach must be thanking their lucky stars there weren’t any waves that day.
5. Tragic as this video is, I couldn’t help but wonder why the hell people were staring at the oncoming disaster instead of running for dear life.
6. Now this is just plain sad. This plane has barely taken off, and it’s already crashed. I’m sure the pilot was a good pilot, it’s just his driving that sucks, veering off the runway like that.
7. The pilot of this B-52 might have forgotten he was flying a big-ass bomber and did all that banking and turning like he was in an F-18 Hornet or something.
8. The sky just wasn’t big enough for these two MIGs.

Those crashes were neat. I can watch them all day.
Very interesting to see when it was and was not possible to offer help, and watch what people did, or did not do, when there was an opportunity to help (i.e. run toward, run away, administer CPR, help people get away from further danger). With some crashes its all over for everybody on board virtually instantaneously, but in others there are crucial minutes or maybe only seconds to make the difference between life and death, or health and severe injury. Flight personnel recite this stuff ad nausem but it’s incredible to watch the escape down the slides when it’s a life or death matter, notably before the fireball likely to come and settle all questiions with utter finality.
