Whether or not this show became the template for Pierce Brosnan's future roles as a gentleman-thief archetype (Bond is a spy, and spies are the distant relatives of thieves twice removed), there's no doubt that Remington Steele did a lot to jumpstart the future Bond's acting career, so much so that he even overshadowed co-actor Stephanie Zimbalist in the series' first DVD collection. And every time people hear the music from Remington Steele, it's Brosnan's face that pops into mind, not Zimbalist's.
