Okay, Six Feet Under was an unprecedented success, but while the show itself was a scathingly brilliant story stern to stern, part of the charisma comes from the equally masterful soundtrack. Thomas Newman’s now-familiar music from Six Feet Under set the mood for the entire series perfectly, since nothing says noir more than a series about death.

The classic Batman series had a rather rustic (ancient) charm that none of the newer movies could – or would – emulate. From the skin-tight stockings that Adam West wore as the caped crusader, to the gigantic and unwieldy Bat Computer. The original music from Batman carried with it part of the charm that made the show one of the most memorable classics of the 1960s.

The Transformers were an icon of the 80’s just as much as Hiroshima was a WWII monument of the 40’s. Every kid on the block knew who Optimus Prime and Megatron were, and could easily mimic the transformation sequences’ sound effects. But recall of the music from The Transformers was such that although various incarnations of the theme were created throughout the years, the very essence of the original still shone through like the eternal voice of Optimus Prime himself.
