Signs are supposed to be informative, and thereby useful. But for some strange reason, many roads, buildings or even stuff are filled with signs that don’t come close to helping out anyone who bothers to read them. While a lot of signs out there are quite funny, some are just plain annoying, insulting to the intelligence and totally unnecessary. Check them out below:

OK, so all phobias, by strict definition, are already irrational.
But as far as irrational fears go, the bizarre phobias listed below are quite at the extreme end of the irrationality spectrum, and whoever suffers from any one of them really should seek help.

In an ideal world, good will always triumph over evil. But this world is far from being ideal. Pardon the cynicism, but more often than not, bad people have been getting the better of the good guys all throughout human history.
Hollywood has been trying to make up for it by producing loads of movies with happy endings that show heroes giving villains what they deserve. We all know by now that English, the most widely spoken language on Earth, is a crazy language.
It has the most inconsistent rules of any language, which effectively makes it the most confusing tongue of all. It also happens to have the widest vocabulary, some two million words to be exact, since, among other things, it happily takes words from just about any other language and makes those its own. Coining words from out of nowhere is also quite common; just check out these slang words for more intimate body parts of the female anatomy.

Death is a serious matter. It is, after all, the moment we leave everything and everyone we know behind. And while death is a grim eventuality for every person on earth, it does have a lighter side, as shown in the way some people bring their certain peculiarities in life to the grave—literally.
Not really sure if all of the weird tombstones shown below are real, but they do make cemeteries a little less gloomy and–considering their residents—a bit more alive.

At the end of each semester, college students are saddled with textbooks that they won’t need anymore. So they try to sell textbooks they no longer have any use for to at least recover some of the money they’ve spent on them.
But more often than not, those who bought their books at regular (read:insane) prices and expect to also sell them with crazy prize tags are in for a major disappointment. These days, tuition isn’t the only thing that’s killing college students. For some reason, the cost of textbooks seems to increase with each passing year. And as the required texts get heavier on the road to a degree, so do price tags on textbooks. By the time they get up on stage to get their diplomas, students have already spent a small fortune on books that were almost always never used again after the semester they were required for. Thankfully, the more recent Summer Olympic games didn’t carry such weird sports from the early days of the modern Olympiad. After all, who really wants to see people win medals for crazy events such as tug-of-war (yes, it was an Olympic sport from 1900-1920) or live pigeon shooting?
The Olympics as we know it today, however, could still use a bit more housecleaning and scrap more events from its calendar. The ongoing 2008 Beijing Games would have been better off without these sports that are pretty much pointless in a stage as great as that of the Olympics.
