It’s hard to imagine someone other than Anthony Hopkins playing Hannibal Lecter? A different film, but look at the first and better Lecter – Brian Cox in Michael Mann’s 1986 “Manhunter.” While Hopkins eventually played Lecter in that story (“Red Dragon”), he couldn’t live up to Cox’s work.
