10 Celebrity Couples With Big Age Gaps
“Age ain’t nothing but a number”, sang the late singer Aaliyah, in a thinly veiled song that pretty much describes her relationship with that lover of pretty young things, R. Kelly. And show business, it goes without saying, is crawling with aging men and women who have a taste for younger flesh. And for some strange reason, many of the young ones are only all too willing to try how wrinkly skin would feel when pressed against them on a regular basis.
Listed below are 10 celebrity couples whose age differences are significant enough to make one seem like a parent to the other. Before anyone complains that there are celebrities who are much, much older than their partners, (James Woods, for instance, who’s 39 years older than her current flame), or celebrity couples in the past whose age gaps are much greater, this list only includes couples who are both in showbiz, still living, and still very much together.
1. Edward James Olmos and Lymari Nadal, 31 years
Hollywood is just so filled with hot women with ugly partners that news of 61-year-old Olmos marrying 30-year-old Nadal from American Gangster is hardly surprising anymore.
2. Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster, 26 years
The age difference between Stewart, 63, and 37-year-old model and photographer Lancaster is much greater than the 24-year gap between Stewart and ex-wife Rachel Hunter.
3. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, 25 years
Douglas, now 63, won his first Oscar as producer of Best Picture winner One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in 1975, when Jones, now 38, was only five.
4. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, 23 years
Flockhart, now 43, met Ford, now 66, at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards after she spilled wine on his award, and they’ve been together since. How Ally McBeal of her.
5. Barbara Hershey and Naveen Andrews, 21 years
The 39-year-old Lost hunk fathered a child by another woman when he briefly separated from 60-year-old Hershey. No wonder she still took him back, he’s such a stud.
6. Warren Beatty and Annette Benning, 21 years
Benning, now 50, did womenkind a major favor by putting a stop to decades of skirt-chasing by now 71-year-old Beatty. Now if only someone would do the same to close Beatty buddy Jack Nicholson.
7. Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood, 19 years
Their age difference was actually the age of now 20-year-old Wood when she first hooked up with the 39-year old Manson.
8. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, 17 years
Cruise, 46, and Holmes, 29, are the perfect couple. All couples should look up to them as role models. They have a beautiful daughter in Suri, and may they have many more Suris to come!
